Dan Constantinescu is first degree Senior scientist, invited university professor - Doctoral School of the UAUIM and member of the Academy of Technical Sciences of Romania, 6-th Dept., Construction and Urbanism.
He worked in National Building Research Institute - INCERC Bucharest since 1969, graduating from the building services faculty UTCB, until 2011. He holds a Ph.D. in Heat Engineering in 1988 for the thesis “Contributions to the calculation and optimization of passive and mixed solar heating systems”. Research fellowship in the field of thermal solar energy applications CNRS, Laboratories Odeillo (1977) and the British Council, University of Central London (1982). Dr. Dan Constantinescu coordinated and coordinate scientific research projects of national and EU: processes of heat and mass transfer, thermal engineering in construction, building energy efficiency and thermal use of solar energy in the building, Romanian concept of cost optimal and nearly zero energy buildings. Professor at the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest and holder of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of energy performance of buildings within UTCB - Department of Thermodynamics (1990 - 2010). Dr. Dan Constantinescu was Visiting Professor and researcher at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), in the first semester, 1990-1991. Is the energy auditor, first degree, for buildings, building and building services specialties, since 2003 with experience in special building audits (universities, schools, commercial large spaces, public buildings). He is a member of six national and European professional associations.
